To enter top universities in the UK, you will need to pass an IELTS test with a score of at least 6.5; for Oxford and Cambridge this score needs to be 7.0 (with a score of at least 7.0 in each module of the exam).

What is IELTS?

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. There are two types of test, General and Academic, the latter test should be taken for UK university entry.

The test, which takes two hours and forty five minutes, measures the applicant’s proficiency in four aspects of the English language – reading, writing, listening and speaking. Each module is marked from 1-9, with most universities requiring a minimum overall score of 6.5 and Oxford and Cambridge requiring at least 7.0 in EVERY MODULE.

As well as registering you for your test at one of over 1,200 worldwide test locations, OEE will do our utmost to prepare you for the test, giving you the best possible chance of studying at the university of your dreams.
